‘And One Day She Discovered She Was Fierce And Strong And Full Of Fire And That Not Even She Could Hold Herself Back Because Her Passion Burned Brighter Than Her Fears.’
Now… Let’s get to it…
Day 1:
Meet In Denver…
That’s right, if you want and feel comfortable with altitude you can arrive in Denver on Day 1, just get there before 2pm! (I checked those direct flights from Cedar Rapids and Des Moines, you can get there, and YES I do recommend flying in!!)
IF you don't know how you do at a higher altitude or IF you do know that it takes you a little more time, I recommend coming in at least 24 hours early. I will provide you hotel or neighborhood suggestions to stay if you desire.
Everyone MUST arrive at Titus Adventure Company at 2pm* in Denver, Colorado.
We will receive our training and get partnered up with our vehicles for the remainder of the trip!! (And yes, they have names!!)
Don’t worry about bringing sleeping bags or anything, Titus Adventure Company (TAC) has you covered!! Check Out the 4 Runners and all that they include right here!
After our training, we will take our fancy vehicles and head to our first campsite to meet up with Amber from Food By Amber’s Kitchen, our private chef who will be with us throughout the trip!
We will set up camp for the first time and just relax spending time together in the mountains.
*Time is subject to change but will be communicated significantly before the trip begins and will take flight times into consideration.
Day 2:
Why Wait?!
We are going to jump in with both feet! We will wake up, break down camp, and head to Golden, Colorado where we will meet the Golden Mountain Guides to spend the next six hours doing acclimation hikes, learning how to rock climb, and rappelling down the side of a cliff!!
After our day with Golden Mountain Guides, we will head deeper into the mountains to our first dispersed campsite, meeting back up with Titus Adventure Company for the night to work out any issues and for support at our first dispersed campsite.
Day 3:
Lessons Learned!
When chatting about this trip with Travis Titus, owner of TAC, he shared that they offer 4X4 training, learning how to confidently drive these mountain roads… so we are going to see what these babies can do and do a little mountain 4X4 driving!!
After our driving fun, we will say goodbye to TAC and head off to Alma and to our next dispersed camping site and prepare for our ‘little annual hike’ grabbing the 14er of the year… or more accurately.. our 14er(S) of the year!!
Day 4:
Go Big or Go BIG!
We are taking on the challenge of the Decalibron Loop!!
The goal- 4 peaks, 1 hike!
Mount Democrat: 14154
Mount Cameron: 14238
Mount Lincoln: 14295
Mount Bross: 14178*
Before the sun rises we will have eaten breakfast, crossed our fingers and toes we finished up ‘business’, and have our little camp packed up and put away so that when the sun starts to peek out at us, our boots are already moving on the trail.
After our ‘little’ hike we will refuel and hit the road, heading to our final location in the stunning town of Crested Butte staying in THIS amazing home nestled on 35 acres just outside of town.
Day 5:
Time Out!
Yes, it is time to catch our breath, slow down, and take in all that we have experienced, so far…
We will lazily wake and enjoy a slow morning in luxury waking up in BEDS!
Then we will grab our lunches and head to Emerald Lake for a very short hike to stretch our legs, swim, and relax in this gorgeous mountain lake.
The rest of the day will include exploring Crested Butte, Guided Yoga, Sound Bath, and enjoying time together!
Day 6:
Why Not?!
Remember that time I said I wanted this trip to open ALL the doors for the women of Beyond Barriers to experience just about anything they desire? Well… this was an experience I didn't realize even existed!
But once I knew about it and knew it was available, there was no way I wasn't going to make it happen!
We are going to get up early, again, and travel to The Black Canyon. We will meet up with Canyoning Colorado where we will put our rock climbing and rappelling skills to the test and do a little canyoneering. Don’t know what I’m talking about?! That’s ok… just check out the site below, it’s going to blow your mind!
*Beginning routes available for those without any experience. With approved experience and a group of appropriate size the intermediate routes will be available as well.
Day 7:
TBD... but it will be a wonderful and memorable day!
We will also be recording our now annual Beyond Barriers episode for the 1Year 1Fear Podcast!
